Serra Goes to the Movies is a periodic event sponsored by the Serra Club of North-Minneapolis.  Our mission with this activity is to support the efforts of filmmakers who are producing uplifting movies shown in local theaters.  Our favorite movies are those that are Catholic-oriented. Our secondary mission is to support the local theaters that are providing a place to view these wonderful films.  Often these movies will be shown in theater for only a day or two.  Frequently we try to see a movie multiple times, at various theaters, to spread out our patronage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We often make new friends with other viewers, like priests, seminarians, and other Catholics, while discussing the film in the lobby before or after the show. Typically, we Serrans each drive separately and meet at a particular theater for a specific showing.  Other times, we will carpool or meet for lunch or dinner, either before or after the movie.  We invite you to join us in supporting good, wholesome entertainment and enriching your Catholic faith. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feel free to invite your family and friends as it is a great way to evangelize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are welcome to join us for dinner at Culver’s, 611 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids.  We are meeting there at 5:30. This Culver’s is a 4 minute drive to the Coon Rapids AMC 16.  The movie starts at 7:00. <\/strong> Call Maureen Collins at 612-850-3003 for more details.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
